Rutile, the most vital and abundant form, contains approx 98% of titanium dioxide in one ore. It is a mineral composed primarily of titanium dioxide and counted as the most natural form of TiO2 is a common food whitener. It is not in the category of safe elements but used commonly as an ingredient. Rutile titanium dioxide is sourced from ilmenite, rutile, and anatase – that has a wide range of applications to use that include, but not limited to paint, sunscreen, and food coloring. Apart from paint and varnishes, ritule titanium dioxide is also commonly used in the making of plastics, papers and in pigment applications like printing inks, fibers, rubber, cosmetic, glass ceramics, titanium, electrical ceramics, metal patinas, catalysts, electric conductors and chemical intermediates.
